Scottish Pin - Coorie - Hug

Originally interpreted a little simplistically to mean ‘hug’ after much research, we have discovered that “coorie”  is more than just a simple hug.

it actually originally meant to stoop, bend and crouch for protection (usually in bad weather and often in peat bogs as far as we can gather!) It has, since its beginnings adopted a more snuggly vibe, an alternate word to the Scandinavian ‘Hygge’ which embraces the idea of appreciating the simple pleasures and to enjoy cozying indoors in front of a fire and to be snuggles up. 

Which usefully brings us back around to being snuggled, cuddled and hugged. So until we get new backing cards to be more specific on the word ‘snuggle’ we’re sticking with hug and hope you will forgive our lack of nuance. We bloody love languages and word etymology and progression and we sometimes get it a bit wrong… with thanks to those who have kindly put is right (in very polite terms).
