Sometimes we have to give ourselves permission to not take emotional responsbility for every situation we come across, especially when it's not at all within our power to provide a solution.

Allowing people to carry the weight of responsibility for themselves and find their own solutions is incredibly empowering and we shoudn't rob them of that opportunity for self growth just from our own sense of guilt and the need for everyone we love to be happy before we can truly enjoy our own happiness.  We must stay strong, accept what is and isn't within our power to change,.  We must allow others to take responsibility for their own decisions and actions, and trust that they'll become stronger, better versions of themselves by doing so.  It'll be tough, taking that step back emotionally, but we can just repeat the mantra:   'Not my monkeys, note my circus'.
