Great Ways To Let Someone Know You're Thinking Of Them

The lifting of lockdown restrictions may have seen a bit of normality returning, but with working from home continuing and travel still posing issues, the chances are there are some friends and family members you haven’t seen for a while.

While a message on social media or a phone call is a great way to say hi, sometimes you want to do something a bit special to let them know you’re thinking of them. We’ve come up with some great ways to make someone smile, even if you’re miles away.

Send Them a Handwritten Letter

Most of the post we get nowadays is bills, something you’ve ordered yourself or local takeaway menus. Not many people send letters anymore, which is why they are a great surprise to send someone to put a smile on their face.

Sending letters also gives you an excuse to treat yourself to some cute stationery, which can help you get into the habit of writing to people more often.

If stationery isn’t your thing or you want to send more than a letter, why not pick out a great notebook or notecard for them? You can write them a note on the first page so they know who it is from and so they are reminded of you every time they use their notebook.

You could even go one step further and have them write a letter back to you in the same notebook so you can fill the book with your conversations.

Arrange a Coffee Date

Setting the world to rights over a coffee and some cake is always a great way to catch up and let them know you’re thinking of them. If you live close by, this is easily done in person as you can pop to their favourite coffee shop for an in-person catch-up.

It can be more difficult if you don’t like near each other but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a coffee date with them. Send them everything they need for a coffee date at home - like their favourite type of cake or pastry, a fun mug and some coffee - and do it over video chat.

This may not be as good as seeing each other in person, but it’s a fab way to reconnect and spoil them a little bit too.

Order Their Favourite Takeaway

Whether you know they have been working too much, have had a difficult time recently or just need a bit of a break, ordering them a takeaway is a great way to make them smile. Even better, you don’t even need to be in their local area, you just need to have an idea of what food they like, if there is a takeaway place they really like and when they’ll be home.

If they work from home, you could send them lunch so they can have a decent break during the day or you can spoil them to a pizza or curry in the evening and save them needing to do any cooking.

Just make sure they’re definitely home and haven’t started making dinner yet!

Surprise Them With The Perfect Gift

Sending a small gift is also a great way just to remind them that you’re thinking of them and can help cheer them up, especially if you get them something they can use on a daily basis. This doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune as some of the best presents are small, thoughtful ones that perfectly suit their personality.

We’ve got loads of fun and sweet gifts that any of your friends and family are sure to love. From enamel pins to make them smile and remind them how much of a badass they are to tote bags that will add some fun to their shopping.

We also have a great selection of gifts for children as well as adults so you can let everyone know you’re thinking of them.

Pop Round For An Out-Of-The-Blue Visit

Nothing says “I’m thinking of you” than turning up on their doorstep for a cuddle! Sometimes you just need to hop in your car or get a train ticket and pop round theirs to say hello properly.

You could even make sure that they’re going to be in by letting them know that a delivery is arriving on a certain day that they need to sign for. We’re sure they’ll love discovering that the delivery is you - although you might want to have a gift at the ready just in case!
